WE DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE FOR A CIRCULAR ECONOMY
We use rapidly renewable sustainably sourced materials that are non-toxic throughout their lifecycle for our packaging products. Our products can be certified carbon neutral and after use, can be either recycled, commercially and/or home composted.
With so many packaging products made from paper, it’s important to ensure our forests are not irreparably damaged in the creation of paper-based packaging. Well-managed forests provide clean air and water, maintain soil quality, preserve biodiversity and habitats, and sequester CO2, among many other ecosystem services. At Sustainable Packaging, we are committed to only using certified raw materials from responsible sources, and our wooden cutlery range has 100% FSC® certification, ensuring that they are manufactured from materials sourced from sustainably-managed forests.
Modern Technology Manufacturing
Our production facility China is the third-largest paper cup producer in China the development of compostable cups and lids. The facility is certified to ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems – and uses electricity generated from renewable hydropower.
Safe and easy to use
Naturally elegant, Sustainable Packaging’s range of wooden food packagings are sturdy and smooth, with a natural aesthetic. A great alternative to traditional plastic disposable cutlery.
Also, they are commercially compostable, meaning they will break down into carbon dioxide, water and organic matter when in a compost.
Plastic- 10 second using takes 100 years to breakdown
Conventional material like plastic is made from fossil fuels. After a short useful life of approximately 20 minutes, plastic packaging will most likely end up in landfill where it takes decades to breakdown, releasing greenhouse gases in the process.
Polylactide (PLA) is a natural polyester derived from renewable plant material. We prefer to use the world’s most reputable brand, Ingeo™. During production, Ingeo™ emits up to 80% less CO2 than the comparable manufacture of traditional plastic like PS and PET*. It looks, feels and performs like traditional plastic, but is low-emission and plant-based to make for a more sustainable product.
PLA is routinely composted around the world in commercial facilities and holds multiple international composting certificates.
We offer a range of sustainable packaging made from bioplastic. Just like traditional plastic cups with lids, are clear cups and bowls are clear and sturdy, performing excellently when serving cold food and drinks. Bio-plastic is compostable in a commercial facility. Plus, the carbon footprint of producing bioplastic is up to 75 per cent smaller than conventional plastics such as PET.
Bagasse- Sugarcane Wastes
Bagasse is more commonly known as Sugarcane pulp, is an abundant and rapidly renewable resource with several features that make it an ideal material for foodservice disposables. It is a by-product of the sugar refining industry, transforming an output that is currently considered waste into a valuable input for another process providing significant environmental benefits.
Sugarcane pulp packaging is exceptionally durable, lightweight, inexpensive, and biodegrades in 30-90 days once exposed to composting conditions.
Great for Food Packaging
It has no taste, odour or harmful additives and can be both heated up or frozen, which makes it an ideal alternative to traditional polystyrene food packaging. Moreover, they have certified home compostable! This gives you the option of diverting organic waste from the landfill. Our sugarcane pulp production facility makes our takeaway containers, clamshells, plates, trays and bowls. The facility is certified to ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems.
Cost Nothing from Earth
Sugarcane pulp is sterilised and sanitised and conforms to FDA administration guidelines. Our range of clamshells, takeaway containers, plates, bowls and trays are made from this material.
